FuneralBiography.com is a product of funeral.link, operated by Funeral Link LLC (5900 Balcones Dr, Ste 100, Austin, TX 78731). It's a guided way for a family to write a loved one's life story. The product is in active development; this policy explains how we handle information collected through this site, where you can learn about FuneralBiography and get in touch.
When you contact us — through the contact form or the chat — we collect what you provide: your name, email, phone number, funeral home, and your message. We also collect basic, technical usage and diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the site. We do not collect sensitive personal information through this site.
We use what you send us to respond to your inquiry, to follow up with you about FuneralBiography, to operate, improve, and secure the site, and to measure whether our advertising is working.
We advertise, so we should say plainly what that involves. This site loads no advertising pixel — nothing here reports your reading to an ad platform as you go. What does happen is on our side: when you send the contact form or the chat, our server tells Meta that a lead came in, which is how we measure whether an ad we paid for actually reached a funeral home. That message carries a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number, along with your IP address and browser, which is how Meta matches it to an ad you were shown. You can limit that from Meta’s own ad settings, and from the tracking controls in your browser or phone. Some of our other marketing sites also load the Meta pixel in the browser, and each says so on its own privacy page. This section is about the funeral professionals who write to us here. Elsewhere in the family of products, page visits on some family-facing pages and whether a purchase happened are measured for our advertising, and each product’s own privacy page says so. A life story is never part of that, and neither is anything a family or a guest writes.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with data brokers. And nothing a family or a guest writes — a life story, a guestbook signature, a message — is ever used to target advertising or sent to an advertising platform. Advertising measurement covers page visits on our websites and whether a purchase happened, including for families; what people write is never part of it.
We share your information only as needed: with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting and email delivery), each under a contract requiring them to protect it and use it only for us; where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and, if the business is ever transferred, subject to this policy.
We keep your inquiry for as long as needed to respond and to maintain reasonable business records, and then we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. To make a request, email privacy@funeral.link and we'll respond within the time applicable law requires.
We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards and limit access to what's needed to run the site. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care and will notify you and the authorities of an incident as the law requires.
This site is intended for adults — families and funeral professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect children's information here.
When the FuneralBiography product launches, it will help families create a written life story, which may include information about a deceased person and details their family chooses to share. That product experience will be governed by its own terms and privacy notice, presented to families at the time — this policy covers the FuneralBiography.com site as it is today.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here, and the “last updated” date below will change.
